Generate File Step: File Type Setting Now Available
Amplify Present
What's new?
The Generate File automation step now includes a File Type setting, allowing you to specify the file type classification applied when a generated document is saved to a candidate record in Bullhorn ATS. Available options are pulled directly from your organization's configured file type values, so the dropdown reflects your existing setup.
Why does it matter?
Previously, files generated through this step were saved to candidate records without a type classification, requiring recruiters to manually update each file or leaving records incomplete. For firms that use file type to organize candidate documents or trigger downstream workflows, this created cleanup work after every automated document generation. This setting ensures generated files arrive correctly categorized the moment they're attached to the record.
How do I enable this?
This update is automatically available for all customers using the Generate File automation step. To use it, open the Generate File step in your automation and select the appropriate classification from the File Type dropdown.
The Generate File automation step is currently in early access.
